About CTC Black Tea

CTC is a high-extraction black tea built for the cup it ends up in — strong, fast and reliable across high-volume milk tea and karak service.

Selecting the Right Cut Grade

CTC is sold by cut size, and the grade controls extraction speed and colour. CTC-BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) is the largest cut with the most balanced body — best for higher-quality karak and breakfast tea. CTC-BP (Broken Pekoe) is a medium cut with reliable strength for everyday milk tea and karak service. CTC-PF (Pekoe Fannings) is finer and extracts quickly for stronger colour in high-frequency service, while CTC-PD (Pekoe Dust) is the finest grade, built for the fastest extraction and deepest colour in high-volume preparation. Order the grade that matches your cup speed and target strength.

Karak & Milk Tea Performance

The CTC process ruptures the leaf to release flavour fast and build a dense, deep-coloured liquor in minutes. That structure is what lets it hold its tea character even after boiling with milk, sugar and spices such as cardamom, saffron or ginger — where looser leaf often washes out. For karak, simmer directly with milk and spices; for milk tea, brew strong and combine. This is a base made for the drink it becomes, not a delicate single-steep tea.

Strength & Cost at Volume

For cafes, restaurants and karak counters running high volumes, CTC delivers more cups of strong, consistent liquor per kilo than whole-leaf black tea, with faster brewing that keeps service moving. The bold body and brisk finish stay reliable batch to batch, so staff hit the same strength without guesswork. Sold in 10kg units across all four grades for high-throughput operations.
